Selling Fish at the Dock

Catching fish is only half the equation. You need to sell them. Docks are marked on your map, and your ship can dock to access the shop interface. Here you see a list of fish in your inventory and the current prices the dock is offering. Prices fluctuate slightly — the game does not have a dynamic economy exactly, but different docks offer different rates for different species. Check multiple docks if you have time.

Fish Species and Values

The game includes a variety of fish species, each with different rarity and value. While exact values may shift with patches, the general tier list is consistent:

• Common fish — Caught in open water, sell for 5–15 coins each. You will catch these constantly.
• Uncommon fish — Found near docks and in shallow areas, sell for 20–50 coins. Worth pausing to catch when you see them.
• Rare fish — Appear in hidden zones and after certain events. Can sell for 100–300 coins. Keep an eye out for these, especially near the secret Laba the Frog areas.

In co-op, you can assign the fisherman role to one crewmate while others handle repairs and navigation.

One key strategy is to fish while the ship is on a relatively safe stretch of water — a calm open stretch with no immediate hazards. Save the intense hazard-heavy areas for pure navigation and harpoon work, and do your fishing in the lulls between challenges.

Collecting Scrap and Wood

Fish are not the only sellable resource. Floating debris — wood planks, metal scrap, and other wreckage — can be collected and sold at docks. Once you have the basics down, these tips will help you maximise your coin income:

• Fish during calm stretches — Never sacrifice hull integrity for an extra catch. A sinking ship earns zero coins.
• Check multiple docks — If time permits, visiting two docks before selling lets you compare prices and get the best rate.
• Watch for rare zones — Areas that are further from the direct route to Nurwa often have better fish. The risk-reward balance is real — further zones may have more hazards.
• Use harpoon for difficult catches — If a rare fish is swimming in a hazardous area, you can use the harpoon to stun or redirect it, making the catch easier.
